Shortlisted for D&AD Future Impact Awards

Achieving Net Zero was Shortlisted for the D&AD Awards 2025 placing the project among the very best in this year’s submissions for the Future Impact section.

The D&AD Future Impact award recognises work that, while not yet commercially released, demonstrates the potential to create positive change in areas like behavior, environment, society, or policy.

Information is Beautiful Awards

Three posters from the Achieving Net Zero collection have made it into the Longlist for the Information is Beautiful Awards which showcases data visualisations from around the world.

Achieving Net Zero exhibition opens at the Sir Ian Wood Building, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen 2025

The Achieving Net Zero posters were displayed at A1 size in the Sir Ian Wood Building, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. The posters are showcased as part of an RGU event called Our Campus, Our World, which opened in February 2025.

The event highlighted the university’s efforts to create a more sustainable future, demonstrating how it aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reduces emissions, and promotes its research and initiatives.

Thanks to the RGU Sustainability Group and Veronica Strachan for supporting the Achieving Net Zero project.

​Achieving Net Zero exhibition opens at Aberdeen Science Centre
 2025


​Aberdeen Science Centre invited Achieving Net Zero to show a selection of posters at their venue as a permanent exhibit. 

​
Bryan Snelling, Chief Executive at Aberdeen Science Centre, said: “We are pleased to be hosting the Achieving Net Zero exhibition and look forward to welcoming visitors who come to see this engaging artwork. Our aim is to inspire future generations and instil a lifelong interest in STEM subjects in the future workforce, so we have a key role to play in supporting the road to net zero".

“The exhibition further cements our ongoing partnership with RGU, which has seen students collaborating with our team on projects which use their expertise in areas such as engineering and fashion management as well as design.” 
This is a fantastic opportunity for Achieving Net Zero and RGU to work with the Aberdeen Science Centre and their schools programme which supports primary and secondary education in the region, with a range of exciting workshops, shows, digital offerings and resources that look at energy and sustainability. 

Situated on Constitution Street near Aberdeen beach, Aberdeen Science Centre is home to almost 65 interactive exhibits, allowing people of all ages to discover topics including Space, Energy, Life Sciences, Engineering, and much more.

Open to visitors seven days a week, the VisitScotland 5-star rated attraction also offers exclusive venue and room hire for corporate, social and private events.

Achieving Net Zero has been featured in the latest Aberdeenshire Council Schools Newsletter 2024


​Achieving Net Zero has been featured in the Aberdeenshire Council Schools Newsletter which goes out to teaching staff across the region. The article asked for science teachers to get in touch if they would like to take part in testing the posters at their schools in the new year.

This led to poster packs being sent out to a selection of academies that asked to take part, so the posters could be shown in their schools. 

All Things Hydrogen Conference - National Sub Sea Centre

​Great to the see the original grey, blue and green hydrogen posters displayed at the ‘All Things Hydrogen Conference 2023’ at the National Sub Sea Centre. Thanks to Professor James Njunga and Jemma Reynalds for all their help in creating them.

Were it started...

The set of posters shown below, discussing Hydrogen Grey, Blue and Green were the first outcomes from Iain and James's chat about the UK's energy crisis. James talked in detail about his interest in the topic and its long-term application in the UK. While explaining all the variations on Hydrogen through sketch’s on a napkin, Iain found he was inspired by James's passion for the topic so in response he designed the set of posters below leading to the realisation that there was so many more questions on the road to "Achieving Net Zero" that needed explaining…
